North Precinct officers arrested a 36-year-old man early this morning in the Northgate neighborhood following a foot pursuit. He was later booked into jail for felony drugs.
Just before 1:00 am, an officer was flagged down about a robbery at gunpoint that had just occurred in the 11700 block of Pinehurst Way NE. The victim reported that the suspect, described as a Pacific Islander male, fled in a dark blue SUV on 15th Avenue NE. Officers recognized the description of the suspect and vehicle as someone they had recently contacted. Officers relocated to the suspect’s nearby address and observed the described suspect vehicle. The suspect was seen crawling through the parking lot in an attempt to avoid officers. Officers ordered the suspect to stop, but he immediately fled on foot. During the foot pursuit, the suspect threw a bag containing a large baggie of methamphetamine inside. Officers located the male attempting to hide behind a fence a block and a half away and was taken into custody by pursuing officers.
During the foot pursuit the original robbery victim left the area. The suspect’s vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant. The suspect was later booked into the King County Jail.
