Witnesses began calling 911 just after 5 p.m. Thursday to report a man had been shot at the intersection of North 90th Street and Nesbit Avenue North.
Officers quickly arrived, found a man lying on the ground with life-threatening injuries, and began first aid. Seattle Fire Department Medics arrived minutes later and began CPR before taking the man to Harborview Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
A second man called 911 to report that he had just shot someone and was in a nearby car waiting to speak with police. Officers converged on the vehicle and took the man into custody without incident.
Homicide detectives are now interviewing the man and will release additional details about what led up to the shooting when they become available. Anyone with information is asked to call the Seattle Police tipline at 206-233-5000.
This remains an active case and details may change as the investigation continues.
