Police arrested a 29-year-old man on Wednesday in Georgetown after he left a handgun behind after checking out of his motel room, and later found officers waiting for him when he returned while also carrying a stolen handgun.
On Wednesday, an employee of the motel called police and said a man had left behind his luggage and a handgun after checking out of his room. Police arrived and recovered the gun, which had an attached suppressor. Officers then discovered the man who’d been staying in the room was wanted on a warrant.
The man returned to the area a short time later and was contacted by police. Officers found the man was carrying a pistol, which had been reported stolen in Kent in November.
Officers booked the man into the King County Jail for his warrant and a firearms offense.
