Officers arrested a man Thursday night after he stabbed a man in the Pioneer Square neighborhood.
A security guard patrolling the 300 block of Occidental Avenue South was approached by a 30-year-old man at 9:30 p.m. Thursday who claimed to have been stabbed. The guard called 911 and provided dispatchers with a suspect description based on what the victim stated.
Police arrived in that area and were able to find the suspect as he was attempting to flee. Officers took the 34-year-old suspect into custody without further incident.
Seattle Fire Department medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with a serious but non-life-threatening stab wound to the chest.
Officers booked the suspect into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
