Police Investigating Tuesday Night Downtown Stabbing

Police are searching for a suspect after a man was stabbed following a dispute on a Metro bus in Downtown Tuesday night.

A witness called 911 Tuesday night to report a stabbing that had occurred in the 1400 block of 3rd Avenue. Police quickly arrived and the spoke with the 44-year-old victim who said he was riding a Metro bus when he was approached by a man who began screaming that he was owed ten dollars. The victim exited the bus and was approached by the same man who continued to yell until he struck the victim in the back. The suspect then walked away northbound along 3rd Avenue. Witnesses described the suspect as a 50-year old black man wearing black pants and carrying a black backpack.

Seattle Fire Department Medics responded to the scene and later transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for a small stab wound the victim suffered in the assault. The victim was listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
