Detectives Looking to Identify South Seattle Serial Burglar

UPDATE 4/4:  South Precinct Anti-Crime Team officers followed up on tips from the community and arrested the 57-year old suspect in Auburn yesterday afternoon.  South Precinct detectives will continue with the follow up investigation.

Detectives are asking the public for assistance in identifying a burglary suspect that has been entering unlocked businesses or residences and taking items in South Seattle.  The suspect will typically take items such as backpacks/bags/purses, money, electronics, jewelry, and liquor. Every time the suspect entered through unlocked doors of the building.   There have been nine reported incidents since December usually along the Rainier Avenue South and Martin Luther King Jr. Way South corridors.

The suspect is described as an adult black male, most likely in his late 30s or 40s.

In each reported incident, the doors of the business or residence were unlocked.

Anyone with information on the identity of this suspect is asked to contact Seattle Police.
