SPD in the Community: April 12, 2019

Case Closed

Officer Caroline Oskam responded to Hawthorne Elementary School to investigate a theft of Elmo’s from the Principal’s Office.  Officer Oskam was assisted by the school mascot Dogman and many potential witnesses were interviewed to include kindergarten students.

The students were involved in the case and they ended up assisting Officer Oskam and Dogman to help solve it.  After their thorough investigation, the case led them to the school librarian, who had borrowed the Elmos without telling anybody.  The students were very happy that Elmo was recovered.

The staff, students, families and Officer Oskam ended up having dinner together at the school.  CASE CLOSED.
