Detectives from the Gang Unit are conducting the investigation following a shooting that occurred earlier Wednesday evening in the Northgate neighborhood. One man was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.
At approximately 7:00 pm, the male victim was driving his vehicle eastbound in the 1400 block of NE Northgate Way when he was struck by gunfire from an unknown suspect. The victim’s female passenger told investigators she heard three shots and then saw that the driver had been struck once in the upper back. The victim’s vehicle had been struck several times by bullets. The passenger was not injured.
The driver was able to stop his vehicle and the passenger called 911. Officers and Seattle Fire responded. The victim was treated by medics and then transported to the hospital.
There is no description of the suspect or any associated vehicles at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Seattle Police.
