A 19-year-old man was wounded overnight in a shooting in the Rainier Vista neighborhood.
Early Tuesday, shortly after midnight, South Precinct officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 4300 block of Jill Place South. Officers arrived and located shell casings, spent bullets, blood and a parked Toyota Camry with fresh dents and other damage, but no victims. Witnesses told officers that a Toyota RAV4 had left the area immediately after the shooting.
While South Precinct officers were still investigating, East Precinct officers at Harborview observed a bullet-damaged Toyota RAV4 pull up. Two males got out of the car, carrying a third, injured male. The injured person had a gunshot wound and was immediately taken into the Emergency Room for treatment. One of the males carrying the victim had a handgun on him, which officers seized as evidence.
Officers impounded the Camry at the original scene and the RAV4 for processing later. Officers interviewed the involved parties and detectives will follow up on the investigation.
