Update: Arrest Made in Pritchard Beach Park Shooting Investigation

Update 5/31/19:

Gang Unit Detectives arrested a 20-year-old man yesterday in Bellevue in connection to this shooting.

Detectives booked the man into King County Jail for investigation of drive-by shooting, assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Detectives are conducting the follow up investigation after several people were struck by gunfire Monday evening inside Pritchard Beach Park in South Seattle.

Just after 7:00 pm Monday, South Precinct officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired inside the park.  Callers informed 911 that several people had been struck by gunfire.

Officers arrived and secured the scene.  An adult woman, who had been sitting in the backseat of a parked car inside the park holding her 10-month-old child, was struck by gunfire, as was the child.  Both victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center.

A third victim, a juvenile, was also struck during the shooting but the injuries are not life-threatening.

Detectives spoke with several witnesses at the scene. According to witnesses, two groups of individuals began shooting at one another in the parking lot of the park when the victims were struck.  There are no suspect descriptions at this time.
