An 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were arrested earlier this afternoon after officers observed them threatening a man with a gun and then trying to conceal the gun.
Just after 2:00 pm on Thursday, officers were near the 1500 block of 3rd Avenue when they saw a male threatening another man by displaying a handgun and shouting threats. As officers were moving toward the suspect, he passed the gun to a female accomplice just as officers were arriving.
Officers contacted both the male and female suspects and recovered the .22 caliber handgun. The victim of the threats left the area and could not be located by officers. The handgun was not reported stolen, but neither the 18-year-old male or female could lawfully possess it.
The male was arrested and booked into the King County Jail for the misdemeanor charges of Unlawful Use of Weapons to Intimidate Another as well as Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol. The female was arrested and booked into jail for the Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol.
