Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident that left two men injured earlier this afternoon in the Rainier Beach neighborhood. Both males were transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Just before 2:00 pm police responded to a report of a shooting in the 8300 block of Rainier Avenue South. Additional calls came in stating that someone had been shot and that another person may have been stabbed.
Officers arrived and located an adult male with several gunshot wounds. Another adult male was located with a large cut to his back. A gun was recovered at the scene. Officers believe that the two men argued prior to one pulling out a knife and the other a gun.
The scene was secured and Seattle Fire medics began treating the injured victims. Both men were then transported to Harborview Medical Center, one with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives are actively investigating. Investigators do not believe that there are any outstanding suspects at this time.
