Officers are investigating after a truck crashed through a guard rail just before 3pm Saturday temporarily closing two lanes of Interstate 5.
The driver of a box truck was traveling east along East Boston Street at Harvard Avenue when for an unknown reason the vehicle began rolling back down the hill, struck the guard rail and stopped. All four tires of the truck remained on solid ground while the back hung over Interstate 5.
Seattle Police officers and Washington State Patrol troopers immediately shutdown two lanes of the interstate for the safety of all travelers in the area. Police are now working on getting the truck towed away now so Interstate 5 can reopen.
Officers will continue to investigate and will cite the driver if any violations are discovered.
