Detectives Investigating Early Morning Saturday Shooting in Rainier Vista

Police were called to the 4200 block of 36 Avenue South at 1 AM Saturday for multiple reports of shots fired. As Officers were traveling to the address, dispatch advised them that a 17-year-old had been shot.

Officers arrived on scene and found the teen lying on his stomach with a gunshot wound to the buttocks and the ankle. Seattle Fire Department medics took the teen to Harbor View Medical Center where he is currently in stable condition.

Gang Unit Detectives arrived on scene and spoke with security from a nearby business who said they were hosting a party. He said the party had just wrapped up and everyone was leaving when a fight broke out in the street. The security guard said he then heard four or five gunshots and saw the victim lying on the ground. He said the shooter got into a dark-colored four-door sedan and left the area.

Detectives found multiple shell casings in the area that have been entered into evidence. They also found a car parked nearby that had a handgun stashed under the driver’s seat. Detectives impounded the vehicle for further investigation.
