Gang Unit detectives responded and will handle the investigation following a shooting Thursday night that left a 17-year-old male injured. The victim is recovering at Harborview Medical Center.
Last night, just before 10:00 pm, 911 began receiving calls of shots fired near the bus stop at South Henderson, just east of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South. South Precinct officers responded and located the victim with a gunshot wound to his back. Officers immediately provided first aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and took over primary care. The victim was later transported to the hospital.
Officers searched the area, with assistance from a K9 team and King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, Guardian One, but the suspects were not located. Officers did recover shell casings from the scene. It is believed that the suspects fled the area in a dark colored car.
