Police are investigating after a 19-year-old man was shot in the SODO neighborhood at 11:40 pm Sunday.
An officer taking an unrelated report late Sunday night heard gunshots coming from the 1700 block of 1st Avenue South. The officer went to investigate and spotted a white Honda Accord quickly driving away without any lights on. The officer followed the car to the 1900 block of 4th Avenue South and found a 19-year-old man inside the car with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
Seattle Fire Department Medics took the man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Officers found shell casings in the 1500 block of Occidental Avenue South and spoke with witnesses who said they saw a group of three people open fire on the car as it drove by.
Police are now working with nearby businesses to collect surveillance video and develop suspect descriptions.
