Detectives are investigating after two men were shot in Pioneer Square early Thursday morning.
Witnesses began calling 911 at 2:15 am to report a man had been shot in the 200 block of South Washington Street. When officers arrived they found a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg. They immediately began first aid for the injuries and called for Seattle Fire Department Medics. As they waited for medics they located a second victim — a 23-year-old-man — who had a gunshot wound to the hand.
Seattle Fire Department medics took both victims to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives with the gang unit are investigating and spoke with witnesses who stated the shooting began after the two victims confronted a man who had been slapping women on the street.
Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
