Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are now investigating the circumstances that caused a two-vehicle, fatality collision early Saturday morning on Rainier Avenue South and South Massachusetts. One male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, and two other people were transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
On Saturday, just before 3:00 am, a passing motorist called 911 to report the two vehicle collision at that intersection. Patrol officers and Seattle Fire responded. Upon arrival, SFD pronounced the male driver of one of the vehicles deceased, and transported two others with life-threatenting injuries.
Detectives were called out to process the scene and begin their investigation. The road was closed while detectives did their work, but has since reopened. This remains an active and on-going investigation.
