Bias Crimes Investigators Seek Help Identify Suspect in Downtown Attack

SPD’s Bias Crimes Unit is seeking help in identifying a man who attacked and spat on a couple in downtown Seattle.

The couple was walking near 3rd Avenue and Stewart Street around 4:15 PM on May 16th when the suspect walked past them, shoved the male victim, and slapped at his face mask, knocking off his glasses.

The suspect told the victims, who are both Asian, “it’s all your fault.”

The suspect then spat at the male victim and fled.

The couple walked into the West Precinct and made a report.

Officers called for a medical unit to check on the male victim, who sustained minor injuries to his hand during the incident.

SPD’s Bias Crimes Unit is investigating the case and is asking anyone who can identify the suspect to call 206 233 5000.
