#2020-226561/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 7-30-2020 at 0030 hours, a Queen Anne resident approached a group of protestors who had been marching around the area for several hours. The man asked them to quiet down. The protestors aggressively challenged the victim who began recording the incident should he be attacked. This angered the protestors, who began pointing lasers and bright lights at the victim. The victim tried to disengage and was then struck in the back of the head. Protestors took the victim’s phone. The phone was returned after they (the protestors) had deleted the recording the victim had made. Victim was transported to the hospital where officers took his statement.

#2020-226645/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 7-30-2020 at 0500 hours, officers responded to a vehicle blocking S Orcas St with 2 occupants inside, apparently passed-out. An officer approached to wake the driver. The driver woke up, stepped on the gas and rammed an SPD Patrol car. The suspect then backed up and rammed another SPD patrol car. The suspect then fled. Renton PD asked to check the registered address and contact a resident, who currently lives in California. Renton PD took a stolen vehicle report.

#2020-226772/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 7-30-2020 at 0910 hours, an officer contacted the resident of a lower Queen Anne apartment building who called about a storage room burglary. The victim located a suspect passed out on the sidewalk in possession of the victim’s stolen property. Suspect was booked for Investigation of Burglary.

#2020-227029/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 7-30-2020 at 1348 hours, a suspect used a hand-held torch to light a fire to a large debris pile in a parking lot in the 1900 block of 4th AV South. The ensuing fire engulfed the parking lot and could be seen a block away. This fire endangered nearby businesses as the fire was dangerously close to wood siding and glass. The suspect was located and arrested.

#2020-227405/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 7-302020 at 2154 hours, someone started shooting at a group in front of a grocery store on Rainier Av S. No one in the group returned fire. Everyone got in their cars and left. Several rifle rounds flew over officers’ patrol vehicle. More officers arrived and searched the area for victims and suspects. None located. Officers located property damage in front of the liquor store and one bullet hole at the grocery store
