#2020-225672/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 7-29-2020 at 0520 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery in the area of 16 Ave SW and SW Orchard ST. The suspect was the passenger in a silver, SUV-type vehicle with a loud exhaust. The suspect exited the vehicle and confronted the victim at the bus stop. The suspect brandished a black unknown type handgun and demanded the victim’s purse. The victim handed over what was actually a lunch bag containing miscellaneous items. The suspect then fled northbound in the vehicle. The victim called 911 but the suspect was not located.

#2020-225920/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 7-29-2020 at 1110 hours a man approached a bank employee on Rainier Avenue South. He told her he was there to rob the bank and that he had a gun. The employee told the subject to leave while shutting the doors and he walked to a nearby business. Officers arrived and took the subject into custody without incident.

#2020-226231/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 7-29-2020 at 1700 hours, officers responded to a Help the Officer call at the King County Courthouse when a man attempted to assault KCSO deputies. The subject observed the deputies walking on the sidewalk while he was driving by. He stopped his vehicle, began throwing items out of the car, and later threw a machete at the deputies on scene. The man was detained without further incident by SPD Officers.

#2020-226415/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 7-29-2020 at 2056 hours, officers responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery in a business in the 2700 block of Rainier AV S. According to the victim, three suspects entered the store and stole one hundred dollars in merchandise. When confronted by the manager, they knocked him to the ground, stole his cell phone and fled the store.

#2020-226434/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 7-29-2020 at 2129 hours, witnesses were inside their home when they heard gunshots. Moments before, they had seen a dark colored sedan driving by. Witnesses believed the incident might have been some sort of retaliation over a fight that happened last night at a neighbor’s house. Another nearby witness reported seeing a vehicle speeding through the area, occupied by a male who seemed to be looking for a specific address. After the vehicle drove off, that witness heard gunshots. Witnesses could only describe a dark colored sedan. There did not appear to have been any property damage to any home or vehicles.

#2020-226486/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 7-29-2020 at 2232 hours, two suspects approached the open front door of a residence, both holding handguns. They began to yell at everyone to get onto the ground. One of the suspects jabbed the barrel of his gun at one of the victims, causing swelling to his face. The victims then attempted to flee out the back door of the residence but were stopped by the suspects. One victim was “pistol-whipped” by one of the suspects. The suspects fled out of the front door without taking anything.
