#2020-227530/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 7-31-2020 at 0109 hours, a male was walking in the 9500 block of Aurora Ave North yelling derogatory speech when he was approached by an unknown female. The female yelled that she doesn’t like white people and began assaulting the victim male with an unknown object. Victim sustained head trauma and required transportation to a local hospital.
#2020-227628/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 7-31-2020 at 0650 hours, a 911 call was generated for a “male walking with a pistol in his hand” near the King County Courthouse. Officers located the subject eastbound on foot. The subject continued walking away, occasionally pointing a handgun partially concealed by a T-shirt, at officers. The subject obeyed verbal commands, dropped the weapon and was arrested in the East Precinct area. A full-size, replica, semi-auto pellet gun painted black was recovered.
#2020-228012/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 7-31-2020 at 1505 hours, officers responded to a report of a suspect with a weapon stabbing at windows. The complainant reported that the suspect also attempted to stab her. Upon their arrival, patrol officers were able to detain the suspect in cuffs without incident. Further investigation by patrol officers determined that the suspect had attempted to stab a employee with scissors, prevented only by the quick closing of the drive-thru window. The suspect was arrested and booked into KCJ. There were no injuries.
#2020-228046/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 7-31-2020 at 1549 hours, officers responded to a report of an assault with the suspect yelling racial slurs. Officers detained the suspect and interviewed the victims. Based on the preliminary investigation the suspect was booked on two charges of Hate Crime, one charge of Malicious Mischief and a request for one charge of Assault 4.
#2020-228026/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 7-31-2020 at 1522 hours, officers responded to the report of a male punching a female on the ground. Upon arrival, both parties were contacted within a block of each other. It was determined the male suspect had assaulted the female and had stabbed her. She suffered a large laceration to her right shoulder that required transport to Harborview Medical Center. During the assault, it appeared the male cut the tip of his left ring finger, almost completely severing his finger. The male was taken to the hospital prior to being booked into jail.
#2020-228071/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 7-31-2020 at 1619 hours, officers responded to a shoplift that turned into a robbery when a suspect implied he had a gun. Officers arrived and located the suspect one block away. The suspect was placed into custody without incident. He was wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet and stated he had just been released from the King County Jail for a prior robbery on 7-29-2020. No gun was located. The suspect was booked into KCJ without incident.
#2020-228335/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 7-31-2020 at 2207 hours, an unknown male walked up to the 12th Avenue side employee walk-in entrance to the East Precinct and set down a box on the ledge next to the door before walking away. Arson Bomb Squad responded and determined the contents of the box were not harmful. There was no note left with the box.
#2020-228350/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 7-31-2020 at 2229 hours, officers responded to the Othello-area grocery store regarding a vehicle that had crashed into it. The driver and passenger ran away. The driver was detained a block away and eventually placed under arrest for DUI and Hit and Run. Driver BrAC was more than 4 times the legal limit.
#2020-228327/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 7-31-2020 at 2152 hours, a man pulled a BB-gun on a stranger while walking down the street and told him he would kill him. The suspect also told the victim to “go back” to his “country.” The victim believed the gun to be real, ran away and the suspect pursued. Officers located the suspect and he was apprehended. A BB-gun was located in suspect’s backpack.
#2020-228332/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 7-31-2020 at 2200 hours, officers were dispatched to check on a male down inside a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers developed Probable Cause and placed the driver under arrest for suspected DUI Physical Control. During a search, the handcuffed suspect reached and grabbed one of the officer’s duty weapon, trying to pull it. The suspect was booked into jail for Disarming a Law Enforcement Officer after a legal blood draw.
