On 8-15-2020 at 1226 hours, 911 received numerous calls regarding subjects erecting makeshift barricades at one of the entrances to Cal Anderson Park.  The group members had built a barrier out of plywood, chain-link fencing, and other appropriated items. A nearby subject explained that they had built the barricade to protect protesters from being run over by police officers. None of the group members wanted to claim ownership of the property used to construct the wall. We removed the items and loaded them into a vehicle. After this we checked the parks department building in the center of the park. Unknown subjects had forced entry to the building. There were 4-5 subjects inside the building when we approached. It appeared that they were setting up a kitchen. All subjects were ordered to leave the building or be arrested. They were allowed time to remove items that they had brought in. Once cleared, officers secured the building as best as possible.

The crowd was extremely hostile and violent. Four officers were assaulted, 3 with minor injuries. One suspect was identified but fled the scene. Two suspects were arrested.
