#2020-241213/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 8-16-2020 at 0036 hours, the driver of the vehicle was traveling southbound on Aurora AV N at N 125th Street and had the green light when a cyclist entered the intersection against the light and was struck by the southbound vehicle. The cyclist suffered severe injuries and was transported via Medic One to Harborview Medical Center. 

#2020-240423/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 8-16-2020 at 0059 hours, officers were dispatched to check on 7 shots heard. Officers arrived and located evidence. There were no victims and no property damage. 

#2020-241312/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 8-16-2020 at 0402 hours, an unknown suspect pried open a roll up door to a business and threw in an incendiary device. The door was propped open with a gas can. It is unknown at this time if an accelerant was used. A pry bar was found on scene.  The suspect is believed to be a serial arsonist that has been hitting businesses up and down Rainier. 

#2020-241325/North Precinct/First Watch:

On 8-16-2020 at 0453 hours, a 911 caller reported several shots fired. Additional caller and a Metro Transit driver also reported shots in the area.  No suspect or suspect vehicle information provided, and an area check for suspects, victims or damage was conducted with negative results. 

#2020-241374/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 8-16-2020 at 0655 hours, officers responded to a property damage/shots call. On arrival they were met by the victims. The location is a two-unit townhouse. The victims’ unit was clearly the intended target. The victims advised that this incident occurred at approximately 0100 hours. They stated that they were asleep when they heard shots fired. The victims got up and looked outside. They stated that they did not see any damage at the time nor possible suspect(s). Neighbors advised that they were calling 911 to report the shots. Radio located the 911 call at the time indicated (20-241235). The victims stated that when they got up this morning, they noticed the bullet holes in the windows of the first and second floor and called 911. The investigating officers observed and counted nine (9) distinct tight group bullet holes in the first-floor window and 2 holes in the 2nd floor window. 

#2020-241431/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 8-16-2020 at 0920 hours, officers responded to an alarm call at a school. When officers arrived, they observed two subjects inside the open door. The suspects had broken into the key box to access a key. The suspects ran into the building and officer set up containment. There was soon evidence that an exit door had triggered, which was most likely when the suspects exited. 

#2020-241846/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 8-16-2020 at 2005 hours, a witness observed a male and female piling up garbage around and attempting to set fire to a child’s play structure. The witness told them to stop, causing the male suspect to throw a bottle at him. The witness retreated, and the suspects ignited the fire. The suspects then fled the scene on foot. The Seattle Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire.
