#2020-261942/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 9-8-2020 at 1335 hours, officers were dispatched to an attempted stabbing. They located both parties, and the suspect sustained possible minor injuries. The suspect was arrested for Assault 2. A derogatory term was used against the victim, but the victim does not believe the assault was due to any biased elements.
#2020-262102/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 9-8-2020 at 1619 hours, an unknown male entered the bank carrying a checkered (black & gray) bag, wearing a white mask, sunglasses, brownish bucket hat, multi-colored vertical striped long-sleeved shirt, and white latex gloves. When the suspect entered the bank, the victim-teller was away from her window, in the back assisting a co-worker. The suspect called out to be assisted and the victim-teller greeted him at her window. Before the victim-teller could instruct the suspect to remove his sunglasses, he presented a demand note which stated something to the effect of “give me all you have”. The victim-teller complied with the suspect’s demand and emptied her till. The suspect watched the victim-teller intently as she emptied her till. The victim-teller reached for the demand note, and the suspect grabbed it and left the bank. The suspect was last seen north on 15th Avenue East. Responding units and K-9 were unable to locate the suspect.
#2020-262258/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 9-8-2020 at 1942 hours, officers responded to 3rd and Pine for a report of a man brandishing a knife at people walking by. Security at the location, including the Washington State Patrol, warned the suspect many times to stop until they finally called SPD. As soon as SPD officers arrived, the suspect jumped up with the knife in his hand refusing to drop it. An officer successfully deployed his taser. Officers took the suspect into custody without further incident.
#2020-262396/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 9-8-2020 at 2320 hours, a witness called 911 to report that she observed a female pull a knife and cut a male walking around with “Security” written on his shirt near the East Precinct. After the victim was assaulted with the large curved knife, the suspect fled in an SUV. Officers arrived and provided the victim with first aid. The victim’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, and he was transported to the hospital. The suspect was located in a gas station parking lot nearby with her vehicle, was positively identified by a witness and arrested. The vehicle was impounded for evidence processing. The suspect was booked into jail for Investigation of Assault 2nd Degree.
