Update 10/20/2020:
Seattle Police Homicide detectives have had a break in an investigation that began in 2019.
Police in Las Vegas arrested a 20-year-old man for a local charge there but notified Seattle Police that a man they suspected in the homicide, had been taken into custody.
SPD detectives flew down to Las Vegas and following an interview, the King County Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges on the suspect. The detectives and prosecutors will now work to extradite the suspect back to Seattle to face charges in the August 2019 homicide.
Original 08/22/2019:
Homicide detectives are conducting the investigation following an early morning shooting that left one man dead in North Seattle.
At approximately 2:30 am Thursday officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of N. 102 and Aurora Avenue North. Officers located the adult male victim with a gunshot injury to his head. Seattle Fire responded but the victim was declared deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded and began their investigation. At this point there is no suspect description.
Aurora Avenue North was closed to traffic for the investigation but has since reopened.
This remains an active and on-going investigation. Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact the Seattle Police Department.
