Officers arrested a man Wednesday night in the Atlantic neighborhood after he was found sleeping in a stolen truck, and fought with officers.
Police were dispatched to investigate a possible stolen vehicle in the 900 block of Hiawatha Place South. Witnesses stated that there was a man rummaging through the vehicle.
When officers arrived they found the man asleep inside the red Ford pickup. They attempted to take the man into custody but while attempting to do so the suspect fought with officers. During the scuffle, a loaded revolver fell out of the man’s pocket.
In the end, police arrested the suspect for assault and two counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle after officers found a stolen moped in the back of the truck.
