#2020-322162/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 11-17-2020 at 1646 hours, officers contacted a subject inside a vehicle blocking the lane of travel (possible DUI). Upon arrival, the subject stumbled out of his car, fell momentarily, and was taken into custody by officers due to his behavior. When officers loaded him into the back of patrol vehicle, he purposely kicked an officer causing injury. It was soon discovered that the subject had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was transported to jail and booked for felony assault and felony warrants. The officer was treated at the hospital and released with apparent minor injuries.

#2020-322403/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 11-17-2020 at 2237 hours, officers responded to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian in the 2300 block of Rainier AV S. The suspect, who was observed speeding, collided with a legally parked vehicle. Sitting on the hood of the vehicle was the vehicle’s owner, who was thrown approx. ten feet to the east. The suspect vehicle glanced off the victim vehicle, traveled half a block and collided head-on into a tree. The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and the victim walked away with minor injuries. The suspect was processed for DUI. Northbound Rainier AV S was blocked for approx. one hour.
