Police are searching for a burglary suspect after he broke into an apartment, and stabbed one of the residents during an altercation before fleeing.
Officers were dispatched to the 7000 block of Rainier Avenue South at 3:45 AM for a report of a burglary.
Police arrived and found a 21-year-old man, who had been pepper-sprayed and had a small stab wound in his shoulder. Two additional people, who were inside the apartment at the time of the burglary, were uninjured.
The victim told police he awoke to the sound of the suspect climbing in a window. The victim fought with the suspect inside the home until one of the roommates heard the struggle, and came to the victim’s aid. At some point, the suspect was able to break free and escape the apartment.
Additional officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The victims described the suspect as a black male, 5’8″, 20-30 years-old wearing a ski mask, construction jacket, and grey pants.
Seattle Fire Department EMTs treated the victim’s injuries at the scene.
