Detectives need your help identifying a man who attacked two women in Belltown and the University District last week.

On Thursday, January 7 around 5 pm, a 56-year-old woman was planting flowers at the base of a tree on the sidewalk at 4th and Blanchard Street. A man approached her from behind and kicked her on the side of her head. He then continued walking southbound on 4th Ave.

The victim sustained serious injuries requiring hospital admission, including approximately ten fractures to her cheekbone, nose, sinuses, and eye socket.

King County deputies are also investigating an assault, likely involving the same suspect, on a Metro coach.

On Wednesday, January 6th a man boarded a bus around Northeast 43rd and University. The man became upset about a woman talking on the phone and then kicked her in the head. The woman sustained a concussion in the assault.

Detectives are hoping someone recognizes the man and can help police find him. If you have any information please call the tip line at 206-233-5000.
