#2021-073677/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-27-2021 at 0102 hours, a male was in front of his truck next to the park. Two suspects pulled up and the occupants exited the vehicle. They demanded the victim’s key fob in order to take his vehicle. The victim said no and ran. One of the suspects shot at the victim, hitting him in his upper right arm. The suspects fled in their vehicle. The victim was treated by Seattle Fire at the scene and transported to Harborview Medical Center.

#2021-73779/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 03-27-2021 at 0553 hours, a reporting party advised that he had just returned home and discovered that there were several bullet holes/Property Damage to his residence. No one was reported to have been inside the residence at the time of the shooting. Officers checked for any possible victims inside the residence, none were located. There was evidence of a shooting on the sidewalk in front of the victim residence. There were also thirteen entry points into the front of the victim’s house (facing east). The rounds from gunfire did travel through several walls and windows, and even one exited this house and entered the adjacent apartment building unit. There were no injuries reported from either residence. In addition to the initial shooting evidence recovered, there was also additional shooting evidence recovered, from the primary victim residence and from the secondary victim’s apartment bedroom. The scenes were processed. Victim reported that he did not know who would have done this to his residence. Appears as though the shooter was on foot at the time of the shooting.  

#2021-73833/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 03-27-2021 at 0743 hours, a male employee called from the Red Apple Market to report that he had been threatened with a machete and that the suspect used biased language towards him. The incident started as an argument, when the situation escalated with the suspect being disrespectful to the victim in the parking lot of the store. The suspect referred to the victim using a derogatory slur as the argument escalated but was not the basis for the initial incident. The suspect initially left the scene, in his car, but returned on foot and brandished a machete to intimidate the victim and a witness. The suspect was located and arrested for Investigation of Harassment and booked into the King County Jail. A search warrant is pending, to recover the machete, which is known to be in the suspect’s apartment.  

#2021-0714213/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-27-2021 at 1644 hours, officers were following a march from Occidental Park. When marchers reached the Public Safety Building, they began to write in chalk and spray paint on three sides of the building. Officers witnessed one person intentionally writing on the walls of the building and taunting the officers. Probable Cause was developed to arrest the individual for Property Destruction. During the arrest attempt, the subject fled and was protected by other protesters and refused officers’ orders to stop. Officers were able to take that individual into custody without injury or Use of Force.  

#2021-074341/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-27-2021 at 1958 hours, officers responded with Seattle Fire to an encampment fire. SFD quickly extinguished the fire. Officers arrived and learned that the unknown resident(s) of the encampment started a warming/cooking fire that quickly got out of control and caught the encampment, several bushes, and trees on fire. The encampment residents fled the area. Several propane tanks in the encampment exploded, triggering many 911 calls. No known subjects were injured. A cyclone fence and some vegetation around the encampment were scorched/burnt. Arson Bomb Squad notified.
