#2021-074622/North Precinct/First Watch:

On 03-28-2021 at 0429 hours, officers responded to a burglary investigation, engaged the suspect in a foot pursuit, and took him into custody shortly afterwards. An officer sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from Northwest Hospital.

#2021-074963/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-28-2021 at 1451 hours, Washington State Patrol initially got a report of a subject over the railing on I-90 eastbound, over Rainier AV S. SPD officers responded to the scene and located the subject standing on the other side of the railing, looking down below him. Additional patrol units responded to block off traffic together with S-DOT and WS-DOT. SPD negotiator also responded to the scene to assist with the incident. Seattle Fire was requested to stage at the scene should there be a need for medical aid/rescue. A temporary command post was established. Patrol officers together with the negotiator communicated with the subject for over two hours and eventually were able to earn the subject’s trust. The subject agreed to climb over the railing where officers continued to talk with him and put him at ease. Officers provided the subject cigarette and water while they were waiting for an ambulance to arrive. AMR then responded to the scene and transported the subject to the hospital.

#2021-075213/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-28-2021 at 2047 hours, a delivery driver was dropping packages in the area when two unknown male suspects attacked him while outside of his vehicle on foot. One suspect held the driver down on the ground while the other suspect searched the driver’s pockets. The suspects stole the delivery driver’s keys and then his vehicle, fleeing the area. After approximately ten minutes, the victim was able to track his stolen vehicle. Officers located it unoccupied in an alleyway about 15 blocks from the scene of the crime. Evidence was recovered and the vehicle was sent to the processing room after consulting the on-call Robbery Sgt.

#2021-075291/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-28-2021 at 2327 hours, officers who were on routine patrol observed a male suspect assault a female victim. Officers intervened and detained the male suspect. While detaining the male suspect he kicked multiple officers and attempted to spit on them. He was ultimately booked into King County Jail for the assaults. No officers were injured other than minor transient pain.
