#2021-87119/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
On 04-11-2021 at 0341 hours, officers responded to a vehicle vs pole collision at 35th Ave SW and SW Findlay St. A vehicle struck a pole fracturing it at the base. The pole began to lean over SW Findlay St. but was stopped by the wedged vehicle and the overhead power lines. One lane on 35th Ave. SW was blocked and all east and westbound lanes on SW Findlay St. were closed to traffic. Seattle City Light responded and conducted a scene size up. City Light advised SPD to leave the vehicle in place until crews could secure the pole. City Light stated that this could take several hours to repair, and traffic control will be needed. The collision investigation revealed that the cause of the collision was distracted driving and impairment was not a factor. The driver had no injuries and was released at the scene by officers. As of this writing, the listed road closures where still in effect.
#2021-87518/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 04-11-2021, officer responded to a business in the 1400 block of 2nd Ave to remove a trespasser. Officers contacted the suspect, but he refused to leave. While trying to negotiate with the suspect, the suspect threw a full cup of coffee in an officer’s face. The suspect was taken into custody for assault and booked into the King County Jail.
#2021-087608/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 04-11-2021 at 1859 hours, an adult male rode his bicycle north on Seward Park Av S from Wilson Av S. A southbound sedan, driven by an unknown person, traveled southbound in the northbound lane, collided with the cyclist, and then fled the scene. The cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries. The Traffic Collision Investigation Squad responded.
#2021-087636/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 04-11-2021 at 1944 hours, multiple people called 911 to report shots fired. One witness was cooperative but had no information beyond being able to give a description of the suspect and the vehicle the suspect fled in. Officers arrived in the area and located evidence of a shooting, which was photographed and collected. No victims were located or reported. No damage was located or reported. The suspect apparently fled the area in a vehicle driven by another suspect. No description of the second suspect was available.
