#2021-094005/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
On 04-18-2021 at 0804 hours, officers were dispatched to the area of 24th Av. Sw / Delridge Wy Sw for a male suspect checking and stealing mail from mailboxes. Officers recognized the suspect’s description and MO as a habitual mail theft suspect who preys on community members in this area. Officers arrived in the area and located the suspect standing near a recycling bin in the 6500 blk of Delridge Wy. Sw. Officers identified and confirmed that it was the suspect whom officers were very familiar with and know that the suspect has an extensive history of mail thefts. Currently, southwest officers have arrested this suspect five (5) times this year alone. Officers observed that the suspect was in possession of a large bundle of US mail when contacted. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Search incident to arrest, more US mail was recovered from his person. The suspect was charged with RCW mail theft and transported to the King County Jail. Case detective notified.
#2021-94287/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 04-18-2021 at 1621 hours, officers responded to a person causing a disturbance and throwing rocks at the window of a grocery store. When officers arrived and confronted the subject, he was hostile and uncooperative. Officers offered the subject a transport to get out of the area and he tried to spit on officers. Officers suggested crisis and housing resources to the subject, but he responded to this by picking up a half full milk carton and throwing it at an officer striking him in the hip. The subject was arrested for Investigation of Assault on an Officer and booked into the King County Jail. A Hazard report was written.
#2021-094587/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 04-18-2021 at 2033 hours, officers responded to a call of a male threatening to kill the caller while armed with a knife which he dropped and ran away. The suspect broke a window nearby. Officers arrived and located the suspect. A short foot pursuit occurred during which the suspect threw a rock at a patrol vehicle damaging it and another which hit an officer causing a minor injury. The subject was arrested after tripping and falling on his own. Later the suspect spit on an officer while being loaded into a vehicle. Multiple Hazard reports completed.
#2021-94664/West Precinct/Third Watch: On 04-18-2021 at 2212 hours, guests of the Warwick hotel began calling security to report an unknown male climbing the exterior railings between rooms as high as the 18th floor. The crisis male worked his way down nearly to street-level where he ignored officers’ instructions and traversed back up to the 15th floor. The subject eventually entered an open room where he was detained by officers. The barefoot/shirtless male claimed that he was attempting to access the roof of the hotel to decontaminate the water that was flowing into rooms and poisoning the occupants. The male is wanted by US Marshals for sex offenses and will be booked into the King County Jail pending a mental evaluation. |
