On 04-23-2021, a third party (uninvolved) called 911 to report details of a sexual assault. After receiving additional information, a person close to the victim, contacted 911 to give additional details. Officers responded to the scene, interviewed the victim, and were able to gather additional information. The victim was reluctant to report the incident, but ultimately stated that they would speak to investigators, under certain conditions. Due to the two-day delay in reporting, and the location of the incident, there was no physical evidence that could be collected. The patrol officers took additional steps to collect what evidence they could gather, identify a location, and took photographs of the scene. The Sexual Assault Unit was consulted, and they will be handling the follow-up of this investigation.
