Police Arrest Man For Threatening to Kill Mayor

Seattle Police Officers arrested a 42-year-old man for harassment after he left a voicemail for Mayor Durkan threatening to kill her.

Seattle Police detectives were notified Tuesday that a man had left a voicemail at the Mayor’s office earlier that morning, stating he wanted to kill the Mayor. Officers were able to identify the caller and determined the call was placed from an Auburn, Washington address.

Officers arrested the man at his home in the 4800 block of South 292nd Street in Auburn without incident and booked him into King County jail for investigation of telephone harassment.

The Seattle Police Department will fully investigate any threat made against any public official and will work with prosecutors to ensure they are held responsible. SPD detectives have previously investigated several other unrelated threats against city council members.
