#2021-119667/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 05-16-2021 at 0515 hours, at an RV encampment on Northlake Way a man and a woman were assaulted by a suspect with pepper spray through the window of their RV. The suspect ignited a minivan that was parked next to the occupied RV. The fire spread to the RV. The occupants evacuated and the suspect fled. There were no injuries. Both the van and the RV were destroyed. Fire Marshal responded. The SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad screened.
#2021-119695/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
On 05-16-2021 at 0652 hours, two female suspects were inside the 7-11 store located at the 9000 BLK of Delridge Wy SW. One of the females grabbed a pack of aluminum foil and concealed it in her pocket. The employee at 7-11 confronted the suspect concealing the item, and she threw a couple of punches at the employee. The punches missed the employee. The two females exited the 7-11, grabbed some ice, and threw it to the ground. Officers arrived and conducted an area search. The suspects weren’t located. The primary officer will attempt to recover evidence tomorrow when the manager works.
#2021-119858/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 05-16-2021 at 1300 hours, a Pro-Palestinian demonstration gathered at Westlake Park. The estimated number of participants exceeded 1,500. Approximately 30 individuals in black bloc attire infiltrated the crowd. The group eventually marched from Westlake Park north on 4th Ave to Blanchard where they turned east to 5th Ave and back into the park. During the event there were a few skirmishes in the crowd and a report of a bias crime from an individual with a different political viewpoint as the majority of the crowd. A subject on a motorcycle was also involved in a minor collision with a bus caused by the disruption of traffic. No arrests were made, and no property damage was observed.
#2021-120125/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 05-16-2021 @ 1809 hours, a subject entered a Fred Meyer and shoplifted a knife and other items from the store. Loss prevention officers followed him outside the store. When they tried to contact him, he pointed the knife at them to keep them at bay. Officers contacted the suspect a short distance away and made the arrest without incident. Suspect booked for Robbery.
#2021-120442/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 05-16-2021 at 2349 hours, police were dispatched to the 11500 block of 31 AVE NE in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival police discovered that two people had been shot and called for Seattle Fire. Both victims stated that an unknown dark sedan had shot at them, as they approached the location in their vehicle. Both victims were evaluated on scene and transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Suspects still at large.
