#2021-127113/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 05-24-2021 at 0853 hours, officers were on scene at a grocery store near the intersection of S Othello St and M L King JR Way S. handling an unrelated trespasser call when an employee pointed out a suspect who just shoplifted from the store. Officers told the suspect to stop, at which time he fled on foot traveling only a very short distance before officers caught up to him. The suspect resisted officers and was subsequently taken into custody. A type 2 Use of Force was completed.
#2021-127217/East Precinct/First Watch:
On 05-24-2021 at 1040 hours, a victim attempted to move along an individual drinking and trespassing within the condo community. The suspect immediately became agitated and as a result of the victim’s perceived sexual orientation, assaulted the victim by throwing and striking him with full beer cans. The suspect was located and arrested by patrol.
#2021-127420/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 05-24-2021 at 1522 hours, a male victim returned to his parked vehicle to find a suspect rummaging through the vehicle. After a brief altercation with the victim, the suspect left the scene on a bicycle. Victim also reported the suspect was possibly associated with a stolen vehicle nearby. Responding officers located the suspect shortly after arrival at the scene and detained him. The suspect was active DOC with threat to law enforcement caution, and he also has a DOC escape warrant. Suspect was arrested at the scene without incident. Search incident-to-arrest yielded a realistic looking BB gun in the suspect’s backpack together with numerous vehicle key fobs with keys, several shaved keys, various theft tools, IDs and bank cards under other people names, and a small amount of suspected narcotic. Suspect was later booked into SCORE Jail per request from DOC.
#2021-127450/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 05-24-2021 at 1550 hours, a male suspect entered a business located in the 4500 block of 42nd Ave SW and robbed a check stand. The suspect implied that he had a gun. The suspect fled on foot. After an extensive search, the suspect was not located. SPD Robbery was notified.
#2021-127441/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 05-24-2021 at 1819 hours, officers were conducting surveillance on the address of a suspect wanted by the Bias Crimes Unit, in preparation for the service of a search warrant on the residence. During the surveillance, the suspect was observed and subsequently taken into custody without incident by uniformed officers and booked into the King County Jail.
