#2021-125130/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 05-22-2021 at 0018 hours, multiple 911 callers reported shots fired and vehicles speeding through the area. Upon arrival, officers located multiple evidence of a shooting in the intersection. A stray bullet had shattered a 3rd story apartment window and struck the interior wall inside a sleeping child’s bedroom. While collecting evidence, two stories were provided by witnesses: 1) A silver sedan and a black sedan were driving recklessly through the area shooting at each other. The vehicles were last seen fleeing N/B on Linden Ave N. 2) A yellow Camaro was parked in the roadway while two cars drove around it, shots were fired from the Camaro before the three vehicles fled toward Aurora Ave N. KCSO (Shoreline PD) was advised and assisted with an area check in their jurisdiction.
#2021-125185/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
On 05-22-2021 at 0204 hours, multiple callers reported hearing gunshots in the 4500 block of Beach Drive SW. Officers located two unidentified witnesses who reported hearing shots being fired and vehicles speeding away. No victims or evidence were located.
#2021-125187/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 05-22-2021 at 0207 hours, patrol responded to reports of a set fire, identified a suspect, and made an arrest. A fire marshal determined the cause and origin to be arson; the SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad detectives responded to assist with the investigation and will handle the follow-up.
#2021-125216/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 05-22-2021 at 0311 hours, units responded to an alarm call at a marijuana store. When officers arrived, a suspect who was attempting to break into the front of the store fled on foot and got into a vehicle. The vehicle then fled from officers. Another officer responded to the rear of the business to cut off the suspect who was initially running on foot. When the officer arrived, the suspect attempted to flee northbound in his vehicle, striking the front passenger quarter panel of the patrol vehicle, disabling it. The suspect vehicle fled the area. The officer was not injured.
#2021-125395/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 05-22-2021 at 1025 hours, there was an altercation between two males. The suspect then stabbed the other male in the neck and slashed his forearm with a small folding knife. An officer was able to apply pressure to the victim’s neck until medics arrived and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center. Officers were able to locate the suspect in the vicinity based on witness descriptions. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and the knife was recovered. The victim is currently in surgery. Homicide was notified.
#2021-125707/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 05-22-2021 at 1730 hours, officers responded to the area of E Prospect and 11 Av E to investigate a reported harassment incident. Officers located the suspect and took him into custody. The suspect spit in an officer’s face causing a bodily fluid exposure. The officer was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for felony harassment and assault on an officer.
