#2021-134942/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-01-2021 at 1246 hours, officers responded to City Hall Park for a report of a male throwing rocks at reporting party and chasing her. Officers contacted the woman, who had to seek safety in her vehicle. She said she had parked her car on Dilling Way and went to pay for parking when she was grabbed by an unknown male who had come from the park encampment. The victim pulled away and was able to safely make it to her vehicle to call 911. She said she did not want the suspect arrested but suggested mental health treatment for him. No arrest made nor contact with suspect because he was in City Hall Park and resources were not available at the time to make a contact team.

#2021-135023/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-01-2021 at 1422 hours, a female victim was driving a Challenger N/B on Rainier Av. S. at 51 Av. S. stopped for a red light. A male suspect walked up to her and physically tried to take possession of the Challenger. The victim accelerated forward and backward trying to get away from the suspect and collided with multiple vehicles also waiting in traffic stopped for a red light. After multiple collisions, the victim drove N/B on Rainier Av. S. At least one other vehicle appeared to chase after the victim. The suspect was scene hobbling N/B behind the King Donuts restaurant. When the victim reached Rainier Av. S. and Cloverdale, a Malibu pulled up along-side of her and began firing a gun at her. The victim continued driving N/B and was observed parking in the area of 30 Av. S. and S. Hanford St. The Malibu was left in the N/B lanes of Rainier Av. S. just north of S. Cloverdale. Evidence of a shooting was recovered near the abandoned Malibu. Patrol units secured three crime scenes and Gun Violence Reduction Unit personnel responded to assist. The victim was contacted and interviewed. The Challenger and Malibu were impounded to the processing room. The suspect is known to GVRU detectives and is at large. GVRU will conduct follow up investigations.

#2021-135102/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-01-2021 at 1500 hours, the SPD Gun Violence Reduction Unit and U.S. Marshal’s taskforce arrested the suspect in Cle Elum, WA. The suspect was wanted for several felony warrants.

#2021-135377/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-01-2146 hours, Seattle Fire requested SPD at a fully engulfed vehicle fire located at 22 Av / E Cherry St. Fire Marshal responded and determined the cause of the fire was arson. The suspect is still outstanding. Incident screened via phone with ABS. There were no injuries reported. The victim vehicle was a total loss, with a second vehicle sustaining minor damage.
