#2021-139665/North Precinct/First Watch:

On 06-06-2021 at 0800 hours, a suspect tore down and destroyed a banner supporting Pride Month at a local church. Suspect confronted a parishioner who witnessed the destruction of the sign and called 911. The suspect drove off before officers arrived and was not located.

#2021-139773/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-06-2021 at 1126 hours, the owner of a residence under construction found that a swastika and what appeared to be cartoon pig heads had been spray painted on the sign of a contractor at the front of his property. While that resident is not Jewish, the contractor whose sign was vandalized, is. However, nothing in the signage indicated the contractor’s heritage, and the crime is thought to have been random, or even targeting police. Photographs were taken at the scene.

#2021-140106/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-06-2021 at 1858 hours, a female victim overheard two unidentified male suspects yell anti-transgender comments toward her, and state they would “grab a gun” and “handle” the situation. Upon investigation, the victim opened her apartment door and observed the suspects running from the scene. The victim believes she was targeted due to the perception of her protected class. An area check for the suspects met with negative results.

#2021-139291/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-06-2021 at 2008 hours, officers responded to an RV encampment at 24 Av S/S Hill St regarding an accidental shooting. The victim was found with a gunshot wound to his chest. A witness (W1) drove the victim to Harborview Medical Center before officers arrived. The victim was unconscious, in critical but stable (per HMC). Witness 1 (who drove the victim) claimed that he was walking by the victim RV when the victim asked him for assistance because he accidentally shot himself. Witness 1 drove the victim to HMC. Second witness stated that she did not witness the shooting but was with the victim before the incident. Second witness observed the victim was high and paranoid. Second witness provided a statement to police. Officers obtained a search warrant and located 3 long guns and 2 handguns, evidence of a shooting at the shooting scene, along with narcotics and paraphernalia. The Gun Violence Reduction Unit and Homicide Unit were advised. Homicide will handle follow up investigation.

#2021-140158/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-06-2021 at 2011 hours, officers responded to a report of a male saying someone in a vehicle had just shot at him. Initially, the victim refused to pull over but was eventually contacted by officers. He stated that, while he was driving, a vehicle pulled up next to his and fired 3-4 shots at him, and then fled the scene. Officers located a possible suspect vehicle occupied by 2 subjects. A High Risk Vehicle Stop was completed and both subjects were detained. During a field show up, the victim was unable to positively identify either subject. However, he did positively identify the vehicle. One subject had a felony warrant, which was verified, and he was booked into the King County Jail. The vehicle was impounded to the SPD processing room from the scene. Officers checked multiple intersections but were unable to locate a crime scene.

#2021-140163/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-06-2021 at 2017 hours, a male victim was inside an apartment with his 3 young children. Two suspects (both armed with handguns) forced their way into his apartment and pistol whipped him in front of his kids. The suspects chased the victim out of his own apartment and pistol whipped him in the hallway. Both suspects did not say anything to the victim during the assault. They left in a vehicle before police arrived. Upon investigating, officers learned the victim and suspects knew each other. Victim believed the suspects assaulted him because he was talking to their female friend. All three children were unharmed. Officers processed the scene and photographed the blood trails around the apartment as a Felony Assault incident. Before going to Harborview Medical Center, victim told officers that the suspects stole $1000 cash from him. SPD Robbery Unit was advised about this incident.

#2021-140182/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-06-2021 at 2052 hours, officers responded to a male subject in crisis who was reportedly taking off his clothes. Upon arrival, officers observed him running into traffic and attempted to detain the subject. The subject resisted, and in the process, assaulted three officers. Two were bitten and a third was kicked. The subject was placed into custody and transported to Harborview Medical Center. Type 1 Use of Force was used. As of this writing, the suspect is under guard at HMC and will be booked upon release. The assaulted officers were evaluated and treated at HMC.

#2021-140254/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-06-2021 at 2239 hours, an incident occurred near a light rail station at MLK and S Edmunds St. A Toyota Prius was traveling NB on MLK. The victim, a pedestrian, had just gotten off a light rail train and she was trying to cross NB MLK. Per Toyota Prius driver, NB traffic light was green. The Prius struck female victim as she was crossing NB MLK in a marked crosswalk. As the victim was lying on the street, a black Escalade SUV ran her over. Toyota Prius did stop and checked on the victim. Prius driver had no signs of impairment. He also provided a PBT breath sample with 0.00. The Escalade fled the scene before police arrived. Victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Medic One and immediately to OR. The Traffic Collision Investigation Squad was advised. Patrol processed the scene.
