#2021-153129/South Precinct/Third Watch: On 6-20-2021 at 0147 hours, a gunshot victim was driven to Swedish Cherry Hill by a family member. The victim reported being in a bus shelter near 14th Avenue South and South Massachusetts Street waiting for a bus when he heard a loud bang and discovered he had been shot in the knee. Suspect is at large.
#2021-153116/North Precinct/Third Watch: On 6-20-2021 at 0124 hours, a suspect entered Swedish Ballard for treatment. Upon seeing a security guard, who was Asian, suspect began making derogatory comments to the security guard about their race. After the suspect was discharged, security had to escort them off the property. The suspect continued to make comments to the victim about their race. The suspect then assaulted the Asian security guard by throwing a full juice bottle at the victim, striking them in the head. Security was able to detain the suspect until police arrived.
#2021-153949/South Precinct/Third Watch: On 06-20-2021 at 2344 hours, officers arrived to handle a trespass incident. Upon arrival they were contacted by a separate male subject who stated he was just assaulted by an unknown female because of his sexual orientation. He would not provide any further information on the female or her whereabouts. After his initial report the male removed all of his clothing besides his socks and boots and ran into traffic on Rainier AV S in an attempt to harm himself. Officers detained the subject and placed him the back of a patrol vehicle, waiting for AMR arrival. During the wait the subject repeatedly slammed his headed against the window in the back of the patrol vehicle. Officers removed the male to prevent him from further harm to himself. AMR eventually arrived and transported the subject to Swedish Hospital. During the incident a biased-policing complaint was made by the subject. Use of Force paperwork will also be completed documenting this incident. All email notifications were completed for the initial Hate Crime incident.
