#2021-181233/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 07-17-2021 at 0730 hours, a vehicle ran red light at 7 Av / Virginia St at a high rate of speed. A female bicyclist was crossing intersection in a crosswalk and was struck by the vehicle, which caused significant injuries. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center. The suspect stopped approximately halfway down the block, where he exited the vehicle and fled on foot, along with 1 passenger. Suspect was located at 7 / Pine, where he had a significant injury to his lower left abdomen. Suspect was claiming he was stabbed but did not provide any further details. This suspect was positively identified via witness photographs to be the driver of the hit and run. A blood warrant was completed to ascertain any level of intoxicants or narcotics use. Neither party sustained life-threatening injuries. The Traffic Collision Investigation Squad was notified.

#2021-181789/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 07-17-2021 at 1946 hours, residents of the International District observed a male suspect kicking the window out of a storefront entrance door. The suspect was then seen entering the business, in the 600 block of S King ST, Seattle WA, through the broken-out window. This happened in front of numerous community members. The community members called 911 to report this and within 3 minutes of the 911, patrol officers arrived. A building search was conducted but it appears the suspect escaped through an emergency exit just before officers arrived. This building houses several businesses which share a common interior hallway. No other businesses were victimized. The community response may have scared off the burglar before items could be stolen and before officers could arrive. News media was in the area and took an interest in the investigation. An on-duty LT and the Media Unit were advised due to the media attention.

#2021-181927/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 07-17-2021 at 2216 hours, officers were flagged down by a robbery victim near the sinking ship garage (1 AV/Yesler WY.) A suspect who had been conversing with the victim suddenly turned on the victim with a box cutter and threatened to kill him. The victim tried to flee on foot and the suspect pursued the victim. In the process of fleeing, the victim dropped his cell phone and the suspect picked it up. The suspect retained the cell phone by threats of force. Officers located and arrested the suspect nearby and recovered the phone.

#2021-181996/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 07-17-2021 at 2319 hours, multiple 911 callers called 911 reporting 5-6 gunshots heard in the 7100 blocks of 42 Av S. Callers also provided a possible suspect vehicle description. Officers arrived and located evidence of a shooting on the street at the location. Officers were unable to find any victim or damages. Backing officers located a possible suspect vehicle and attempted to pull it over but the vehicle sped off. Gun Violence Reduction Unit was advised. Patrol processed the scene.
