#2021-198781/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-03-2021 at 0021 hours, the victim was an elderly female who doesn’t speak English. She was walking home when the suspect assaulted her and stole her purse. The suspect ran away after the robbery. The victim went home and asked her daughter to call 911. Officers responded to the scene and searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. Victim described the suspect as wearing a black mask, black coat and pants. The report will forward to Robbery Unit for follow investigation.
#2021-199235/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-03-2021 at 1250 hours, a call was placed to 911 regarding a racist/anti-Semitic bumper sticker that was placed on a vehicle. This was a ‘coexist’ type of bumper sticker, but with a swastika in place of the ‘x’ and Nazi ‘SS’ thunderbolt in place of the ‘s’. The caller herself did not feel targeted but wanted to report this incident due to a rash of recent posters with biased content appearing in the area.
#2021-199360/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-03-2021 at 1505 hours, On-Star notified police of a stolen vehicle. Patrol officers located the vehicle, which was being driven at the time. Patrol stopped the stolen vehicle and based on probable cause, arrested the driver for possession of a stolen vehicle. Located in the vehicle were two catalytic converters and a Sawzall. The suspect and evidence were transported to the South Precinct. Major Crimes Task Force Detectives responded to interview the suspect.
