#2021-198908/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 08-03-2021, officers responded to a residence in the 2500 block of SW Portland CT to investigate a burglary with an associated auto theft. The suspect left behind evidence which allowed officers to make an ID. On 08-04-2021 at 0208 hours, officers responded to the same location for a prowler call. The victims could see that their stolen car was parked outside their residence and could hear someone trying to open a door to their home. Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody without incident. The vehicle was recovered along with some property from inside the residence. The suspect was found to have trace amounts of methamphetamine on his person. Suspect booked into King County Jail.

#2021-1999994/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 08-04-2021 at 0428 hours, reporting party noticed 2 flashlights moving around inside their neighbor’s shed, which had been recently burglarized, and believed it was happening again. Officers arrived and located the suspects. The bicycle was recovered. Officers were able to get a confession from the suspect, who provided a location for a stolen motor scooter also taken from the shed. Officers then located the scooter and recovered it, along with evidence that showed suspects rolling it down an alley. At this time, only 1 bicycle is left unrecovered, as an unknown suspect had ridden away with it. Suspect booked for Burglary.

#2021-200117/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 08-04-2021 at 0806 hours, officers responded to a call of a victim waking up to find that forced entry had been made into the residence. The victim’s vehicle has been stolen from the garage. The suspect gained entry at the front door, accessed vehicle keys, and stole the vehicle out of the attached garage. A neighbor reported seeing the vehicle leave within 20 minutes of the 911 call. The vehicle was equipped with OnStar, not yet activated during this SIR report. An area check for the vehicle was negative. A similar incident occurred in Frank sector on 8/3/2021.

#2021-200297/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 08-04-2021 at 1104 hours, the victim, who is 80 years old and in a wheel-chair, was confronted in the hallway of his apartment building by a suspect who was wielding a large stick/bat. Suspect told the victim to get back into his apartment, that he was going to smash his skull, and other threats. All while using a racial slur to refer to the victim. Victim felt very afraid, and felt he was targeted due to his race. Suspect was contacted, arrested, and booked into King County Jail.

#2021-200794/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 08-04-2021 at 1946 hours, officers responded to a crisis call where the subject was outside screaming and causing a disturbance. The subject who was in crisis was reporting someone was in the attic and there was mention of a firearm. Officers arrived and no firearm was involved. One of the caller’s acquaintances did have a firearm but it was secured in her vehicle which the subject did not have access to. As there was no crime being committed, the criteria for an ITA were not met, and the subject did not want any assistance from officers, officers de-escalated the situation by clearing from the scene. Over the course of approx. 45 mins, numerous calls were made to 911 about the subject still causing a disturbance. It was then reported that the subject in crisis had escalated to the point where they set their house on fire. Seattle Fire and officers responded back. Once on scene, officers observed the subject using an aerosol can and a lighter (makeshift flame-thrower) to set the house on fire. Officers went to contact the subject who used the same items to assault an officer. Type II Use of Force was used to subdue the subject and take them into custody. SFD extinguished the fire. Subject was booked into King County Jail for Inv. Of Arson and Inv. Of Assault. Arson Bomb Squad and Fire Marshal notified and responded to the scene.

#2021-200917/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 08-04-2021 at 2202 hours, the suspect was speaking with and spending some time with some women in the Aurora area. He was at a local motel and proceeded to get into a verbal argument with the owners of the establishment. He then became increasingly threatening, stating he would kill the owners while using slurs pertaining to their nationality. He was so aggressive that the owner pepper sprayed him. The suspect left with a couple of women and a short time later was robbed of his belongings and assaulted to the point of needing to be transported to the hospital (#2021-200854). An investigation was completed by officers.
