#2021-205756/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-09-2021 at 1508 hours, Patrol responded to an explosion call where the complainant found an incendiary device. Arson Bomb Squad responded and conducted the follow-up investigation. ABS determined this incident was not criminal in nature nor was there any evidence of criminal intent.
#2021-205869/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-09-2021 at 1704 hours, caller reported hearing a very loud explosion which shook the ground and sounded like dynamite. He then saw someone pick up what looked like a metal pipe which was crimped on both ends and run off with it. Only a very vague suspect description was provided. Officers responded and were unable to locate any crime scene, property damage, injuries, or evidence left behind.
#2021-206002/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-09-2021 at 2003 hours, police were dispatched to the 2500 block of 31 Ave W, in reference to a bias incident. During the investigation, police learned that the suspect yelled out from his vehicle at the victims and called them slurs based on their perceived sexual orientation. The suspect then drove around the block and returned to the victims, driving his vehicle close to the curb. The suspect then stated he would kill the victims. Officers checked the area for the suspect, but he was not located.
#2021-206140/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-09-2021 at 2331 hours, suspects approached the victims, engaged them in conversation about where they went to school, then brandished handguns. The suspects forced the victims to hand over their mobile phones after wiping them clean and resetting the passwords. During the robbery, after one of the suspects placed his gun on the ground, one of the victims retrieved it and inadvertently fired off a round, causing the suspects to flee on foot. Officers swept the park for the suspects, for a handgun that might have been dropped, and for evidence.
