#2021-217245/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 08-21-2021 at 0157 hours, police responded to the 2300 block of 1 Ave, in reference to a weapon call. Upon arrival, police discovered that the suspect observed a fight in the area and decided to intervene. The suspect retrieved a rifle from his vehicle and brandished the weapon at the crowd, to disperse those fighting. The suspect then fled the area as a passenger in a vehicle. Police located the vehicle in the area and arrested the suspect without incident. The suspect did not discharge the weapon during this incident. No community members or officers were injured during this event. Gun Violence Reduction Unit responded to scene.

#2021-217266/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 08-21-2021 at 0252 hours, a subject in crisis lit his furniture on fire in his apartment in an occupied 9 story apartment complex. Subject was booked into King County Jail for Arson 1. SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad will conduct the follow-up.

#2021-217306/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 08-21-2021 at 0432 hours, a suspect went to the location which is a transitional housing. She has been previously trespassed and there are anti- harassment orders involving other tenants that currently still live there. Staff asked her to leave multiple times and she refused. She then assaulted one of the tenants by punching him several times in the face. Officers initially went to ITA the suspect, but she struck the arm of one of the officers with her bloody hand. She was placed under arrest for assault.

#2021-217388/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 08-21-2021 at 0600 hours, officers were dispatched to Harborview Medical Center for a male who came in with a gunshot wound to his back. During the investigation, officers learned he was walking towards the bus stop and 36 Ave South and S Genesee St when he was stuck in the back by a round. The victim did not see who fired the shot and was unable to provide us with any more information. Officers canvased the area but could not locate a scene. Victim was in stable condition at the hospital. Gun Violence Reduction Unit and Homicide were notified.

#2021-217438/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 08-21-2021 at 0927 hours, the suspect and victim live in the same apartment building. They crossed paths this morning in the alley behind the building. Unprovoked, the suspect started making derogatory comments to the victim referencing the victim’s race and disability. No physical assault occurred, but the victim was fearful that the suspect would assault him at that time or in the future. According to the victim, the suspect has a reputation for bullying within their apartment building. The victim felt the suspect singled him out due to his race and disability. Patrol officers responded and interviewed the victim. The suspect was not located. Sgt. responded to the scene and screened the incident with a lieutenant.

#2021-218871/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 08-21-2021 at 1757 hours, an incident occurred in the 10400 blocks of Renton Av S. A female victim was walking out of her house to her car. Two suspects were described as males in their 30s, thin build, 6′ wearing black baseball hat, black clothing, and masks. Both suspects walked up to the victim and pointed their guns at the victim, demanded all her belongings. The victim complied and gave up all her belongings (car key, phone, wallet, purse, and jewelry). Both suspects took the victim’s Mercedes Benz and drove away SB toward Skyway. The victim was scared but unharmed. The robbery unit was advised.

#2021-218090/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 08-21-2021 at 2312 hours, a male suspect wearing a black hoodie, black baseball hat, blue jeans, and red shoes, entered the 7-11 store located in the 9200 block of 35 AVE SW. The suspect produced a handgun which he menaced the clerk with, telling him not to “call the police or press the alarm”. The clerk retrieved $400 from the till which he handed over to the suspect. The suspect told the clerk that he would return and kill the clerk if he called police before leaving the store NB. Officers responded, set up containment and called for K-9. K-9 resources were not available. Officers canvased the area for video. Evidence was recovered from the store.
