#2021-218123/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-22-2021 at 0015 hours, the owner of a heavy equipment operating company observed two suspects on the property of his business via security camera. The suspects were seen looking into vehicles and attempting to open vehicle doors on the property. The suspects were carrying bags or backpacks with them. Responding officers located an unsecured vehicle with ignition damage that the suspects attempted to steal. The officers also found the bags that the suspects were carrying, and they contained power tools/saws. Officers located a street sweeper vehicle that had its catalytic converter chopped off. The officers then located one of the suspects hiding underneath a nearby vehicle. The suspect was arrested and the catalytic converter was recovered. Suspect booked for Investigation of Theft, and Attempted Auto Theft. The outstanding suspect was not located or identified.
