#2021-219998/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 08-24-2021 at 0002 hours, residents at the Center Park Apartments called 911 to report a shooting. Officers arrived and found several bullet holes at an apartment door. This apartment is vacant but unsecured, therefore it is being occupied by squatters. Officers ordered everyone to exit the apartment and swept the apartment for victims, but none were found. Officers found evidence to believe that two suspects were shooting at a wall as target practice. Both suspects left the apartment as officers were arriving. One stolen handgun was located and recovered. Officers processed the scene. All squatters were I&R.

#2021-220011/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 08-24-2021 at 0029 hours, officers responded to a report of a carjacking at gunpoint at NE 125/15 Ave NE (7-11). Victim stated he and his friends were pulled out of their vehicle at gunpoint by a group of suspects in two other vehicles. Officers flooded the area and located the victims’ vehicle a few blocks away at NE 117/4 Ave NE unoccupied but still running. No K9 was available for a track. Vehicle was returned to the victim at the recovery scene.

#2021-220623/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 08-24-2021 at 1534 hours, an SPD officer working with a DOC officer partner were handling a trespass call at a sidewalk restaurant in the 2500 blk of 1st Ave. Despite efforts to obtain compliance and de-escalate the suspect, he became irate and threatened officers. They increased distance for safety, but the suspect ran around a railing and charged and attacked the DOC Officer. The assault occurred so quickly the SPD officer could not deploy his taser before the suspect punched the DOC officer on the head. The SPD officer reacted, successfully Tasing the suspect into immediate compliance. Records check showed the suspect has a history of assaulting officers. Seattle Fire was called to remove the Taser probes before the suspect was booked for Felony Assault. FIT was screened for a potential Type 3 issue but ruled this a Type 2. Hazard Report was completed. The DOC officer declined medical aid.

#2021-220682/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

On 08-24-2021 at 1648 hours, after a lengthy investigation officers were able to determine (to the best of their abilities) the following occurred: One vehicle cut off another vehicle while merging into traffic. Road rage occurred. During the road rage the driver of vehicle one spit on the passenger of vehicle two (open window). The driver of vehicle two followed vehicle one to West Seattle. Driver two got out of his car and started banging on the window of vehicle one. Driver one then drove his vehicle into driver two as well as vehicle two. Passenger of vehicle two stated that vehicle one backed up and began driving towards driver two. She fired one round into the back tire of vehicle one. Driver two feared for his life so he fired two rounds into vehicle one. Driver one said he drove into driver two because he was in fear for his life as well. Several witnesses gave differing accounts of the incident. The scene was processed, evidence of a shooting was recovered, the firearms were recovered, and statements were taken from all involved. Gun Violence Reduction Unit was contacted and screened the incident. All parties were interviewed and released as all accounts were plausible.

#2021-220722/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 08-24-2021 at 1736 hours, officers responded to a report of several shots fired near Taylor Ave N / Valley St. No victims were located, and the involved parties were all gone. Witnesses reported a male and female on foot had an altercation with subject(s) inside a vehicle. The male fired multiple rounds from a handgun at the vehicle and the occupant(s) of the vehicle may have returned fire. The vehicle left the scene, and the male & female also left the scene possibly in a vehicle. Patrol officers conducted an area search for suspects, processed the scene, and searched for witnesses and evidence. Hospitals were put on alert, but no gunshot victims were reported at any of the local hospitals at this time. The immediate area was canvassed for victims of any errant rounds, but none were found. This incident was screened by Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives.

#2021-220985/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 08-24-2021 at 2343 hours, officers responded to a robbery at Green Lake. An unknown male walked up and took the victim’s property. When the victim confronted the suspect, the suspect pointed pepper spray at the victim and threatened to use it. The suspect then took the victim’s bicycle as well and fled the area. An area check was negative.
