#2021-232335/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 09-05-2021 at 0641 hours, officers responded initially to the report of illegal dumping. The caller reported that the suspect was placing pallets at the business’ dumpster. Later a patron of the business confronted the suspect, who responded by swinging at the patron with a pole. The suspect then hit the patron’s vehicle and called the patron a racial slur. The patron stated they did not feel they were targeted due to their race and did not wish to do any more about the matter.

#2021-232511/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-05-2021 at 1128 hours, a female victim parked her vehicle at the Park and Ride lot near Thornton Place. Two male teenage suspects approached her, demanded her car keys, displayed a possible handgun, and assaulted her by throwing her to the ground. The suspects gained possession of her purse and car keys. They entered the victim’s vehicle and drove westbound towards the freeway. Due to a language barrier the reporting of the incident and ability of obtaining a description of the vehicle and suspects involved was delayed. The suspects were able to escape prior to police arrival. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident.

#2021-232638/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-05-2021 at 1355 hours, officers responded to the 200 block of 1st Avenue S reference an assault. The reporting party called 911 to report he was walking on the sidewalk when an unknown male approached him and “shoulder checked” him and said, “go back to your country.” The male then began assaulting him by punching him several times in the victim’s side and said, “go eat a cow.” The suspect then walked off. Area checks for the suspect were negative. Victim had visible injuries from the assault but declined medical attention.

#2021-233021/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-05-2021 at 2147 hours, multiple callers reported hearing three or four shots around the six-thousand block of 36 Ave SW. Patrol officers searched the area on foot and located evidence of a shooting. A vehicle was heard leaving the area, but none of the reporting parties were able to provide a description. No additional evidence or property damage was located.
